Protect Your Online Banking Passwords
- Regularly change your password every few months.
- Choose a unique password that you use exclusively for online banking. Avoid using the same password for different online services. It should include a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Don’t use passwords based on personal information that can be easily guessed, such as children’s or pets’ names, addresses, or birthdays.
- Don’t use words that can be found in any dictionary of any language.
- Use both lowercase and capital letters.
- Use a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Consider using a passphrase, a series of random words that are easy to remember but hard to crack to enhance password strength.
- Don’t write your password down and leave it where someone can find it.
- Never share your password with anyone. Be suspicious of any phone calls or email messages requesting that you reveal your password.
